"I have 6 pairs of rope espadrille alpargatas, and several other original, all in size 6. 5. The new pair in size 6. 5 are tight and short. I had thrown away the packaging because I didn’t expect to have to return the shoes, so now I’ve been stretching the shoes with plastic stretchers and thick socks. I think they will eventually be wearable, but I caution any purchasers to consider sizing up."
"The top layer is too hard, had thought wearing a couple of times will help to break it in, but i got blisters on the back of my ankle and on top of my foot. If i hadn’t bought it on sale i would have returned it."

"These shoes are adorable — exactly what I wanted — and the size 8 fits perfectly, BUT . . . the first time I wore them, within 15 minutes, the super stiff heels had rubbed big chunks of skin off my heels, and they were bleeding. Those raw areas burned and prevented me from going to the gym for a few days, and I still have big scabs weeks later. TOMS definitely needs to invest in softer material for the heels or make the structure more flexible that will bend with the foot. It’s so sad that they used cheap materials and/or a poor design for that part and clearly didn’t do quality control and testing, especially at a price point this high. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pair of shoes in my 45 years of life that has ever done this, and I do tons of hiking and have tough feet. And it happened in 15 minutes! That speaks volumes about the lack of quality of this part of the shoe. Here’s hoping TOMS will read this and go back to the drawing board with their design team and manufacturer. I really want to support TOMS, their mission, and their trendy, unique designs. Except for the heels, this shoe is beautiful and comfortable, so they just need to fix this design flaw STAT for their customers. Integrity matters when you’re choosing where to spend your hard-earned money."

"These have an interesting lacey finish that gives a more feminine look to the shoe. They are a little tight so hoping they stretch over time as rubbed one of my heels. They are very lovely shoes for the summer time as an alternative to strappy sandals or Birkenstocks."
